It Started With a Family Milk Cow.
There's something special about bringing a family milk cow home.
The early mornings, the familiar sound of a milk pail, and the rhythm of everyday chores quickly become part of your family's story.
But alongside all that goodness comes a lot to learn.
When we began caring for our own dairy cows, we learned firsthand just how much thought goes into their nutrition. Minerals, feed, supplements, changing seasons, and different stages of lactation—there was always something to research or figure out.
We wanted to provide thoughtful care for our cows without making everyday nutrition feel unnecessarily complicated.
That's where Heritage Herd began.

Hi, I'm Sierra!
I'm a wife, mom, homesteader, and the founder of Heritage Herd.
Our family lives on a small homestead in Texas, where caring for our dairy cows has become one of the most meaningful parts of our daily routine.
If you've ever stood in the feed aisle comparing mineral labels, researched the needs of a cow in milk, or wondered whether you're doing enough for your herd, I understand.
I've asked those questions, too.
Heritage Herd grew from a desire to make good nutrition feel more approachable for everyday dairy cow owners.
Every herd is different, but I believe that thoughtful nutrition, practical products, and a willingness to keep learning can make caring for our cows feel a little simpler.
